Those looking to take a breath of fresh air while having quality time with their families can visit Branchsto Equestrian Park in BSD City, Tangerang – only about an hour’s drive from Jakarta – where adults and children alike can enjoy a variety of attractions from horse-riding to driving ATVs in a cowboy-themed environment.
Better yet, entry to the park is free, making it one of the few attractions in and around Jakarta that won’t hurt your pocket while still allowing you and your family to have a good time.

The park’s main feature is its riding arena right at the center, where visitors can take riding lessons for Rp. 400,000 (~USD27.44) per 45 minutes accompanied by experienced trainers – the price includes riding equipment such as helmets and boots.

Pony-riding lessons are also available for children under 6 years of age, costing Rp. 300,000 (~USD20.60) – equipment included – for a 45-minute session.

Alternatively, the park also offers casual pony rides around the area which adults and children alike can enjoy, costing Rp. 30,000 (~USD2.06) for rides on smaller ponies or Rp. 40,000 (~USD2.75) for the bigger ones, as well as horse carriage rides for Rp. 50,000 (~USD3.43).

Another popular feature at the equestrian park is its archery range, where visitors can try their hands at using a bow and arrow like Katniss Everdeen for only Rp. 25,000 (~USD1.72), which includes rental equipment.

The park also has a small off-road track which you can enjoy on a rental ATV for Rp. 50,000 (~USD3.43), as well as scooters that you can rent for Rp. 25,000 (~USD1.72) to ride around the area.
No worries if you’re visiting with kids under 6 years of age, as the park has a mini zoo with ponies and other animals such as iguanas, birds and tortoises.

Kids under adult supervision can get up close to the ponies and feed them for Rp. 15,000 (~USD1.03), which makes for a great educational activity that you can do with your younger children on weekends.
