When it comes to trendy coffee shops in Jakarta, neighborhoods in the southern part of the city such as Cipete and Kemang are often considered to be among the most popular places to go to. However, Kyō Coffee in East Jakarta proves that other parts of the city also have cool places to offer.
Those of you who are into Japanese-inspired architecture or interior design will surely want to bookmark Kyō Coffee for future visits.

One look at Kyō Coffee and it’s clear that it’s heavily influenced by Japanese cafe culture. The combination of concrete and wood gives the cafe an urban yet soothing natural atmosphere that is appealing in a busy city like Jakarta.

Another key feature of Kyō is its row of large windows that doesn’t make visitors feel cooped up. Plus, you can get plenty of natural light while you sit inside with a cup of coffee and a snack.
Whether you visit during the day or in the evening, you won’t want to waste a photo op.

Obviously, Kyō Coffee’s architectural features aren’t the sole highlight of this Jatiwaringin-based coffee shop. Those of you who want a light breakfast consisting of a savory snack and a cup of iced coffee can try their Spinach Quiche (Rp. 32,000, ~USD2.17) and Iced Latte (Rp. 38,000, ~USD2.58).

Not every eager cafe-hopper is a coffee drinker. Luckily, there’s their new Matcha Latte (price to be announced), infused with matcha powder straight from Kyoto. Lactose intolerant and vegan customers can also opt for an oat milk substitute.
You’re probably excited to pay Kyō Coffee a visit, but as we’re still dealing with COVID-19, it’s important that you follow the health guidelines in place.
To help keep everyone safe, all guests must wear a face mask when they are not eating or drinking, and only two people can sit at the same table. Additionally, in accordance with contact tracing regulations, all dine-in guests have to give their name, phone number, and ID number (NIK).
Alternatively, you can also order some of their drinks and bites for takeaway or delivery if you’re in the area via Tokopedia or GrabFood.
