In Jakarta, PSBB is scheduled to last for 14 days, although it may be extended after the current final day of 24th April 2020. During this PSBB period, eight essential sectors will continue to operate, while schools, universities, and the majority of offices will carry on with their routines online.

Supermarkets and pharmacies will remain open, including those located in shopping malls. It should be noted that if you drive to these places, make sure that no more than three people are in your car. Orif you use public transportation, note that daily operations of public transport are now limited from 6AM to 6PM.

In addition to that, it is now compulsory to wear a mask in public places, so be sure to wash your reusable ones regularly.

Regions that will enforce PSBB

Following Jakarta, the West Javanese areas of Bogor, Depok, and Bekasi will begin their PSBB period on Wednesday, 15 April 2020. As with Jakarta, it will also last for 14 days until further notice.

Requests for PSBB have also been approved for Banten and Riau. To date, no starting date has been confirmed, but a minimum of 14 days will also be allotted to these areas as well.

It is indeed frustrating to stay indoors for weeks on end, but those of us who are able to do work and study from home should do our part to flatten the curve. Only leave your homes when it is absolutely necessary, and don’t forget to wear a mask when you do so.

Keep yourself up to date on the latest developments, keep your house clean, and let’s take care of each other by practicing physical distancing.
