Bad news for Indonesian fans of Korean fast food chain Lotteria – it’s recently announced that it’s closing all of its outlets across the country on 29th June.

2020 sure has been quite a whirlwind of a year for F&B outlets in Indonesia, and even some big brands such as Lotteria, beloved for its Buldak and Yangnyeom chicken, have not been spared from shutting outlets down in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Lotteria made the announcement on their official Instagram page. After 9 years of serving delicious fried chicken and other Korean-style fast food dishes to Indonesian customers, the chain’s last day in Indonesia is 29th June 2020. L. Point card holders can use their accumulated points to purchase their favorite items on the menu.

We have about a week left to enjoy the food offered by Lotteria. After that, we’ll have to fly to its OG outlets in South Korea to find it – which will be a while for fans in Indonesia due to global travel restrictions.

Sad netizens replied to the original post made by Lotteria, most of them highlighting how much they’ll miss the restaurant’s speciality dishes.

As sad as its regulars may be, Lotteria’s decision to close its Indonesian outlets will surely also have a huge impact on its many employees. User @fikaosman expressed her sadness for the workers, and hopes the best for them. The “pandemic is tough and painful,” she lamented – a sentiment many other people working in the F&B industry will identify.

The announcement regarding Lotteria’s final days in Indonesia has surely saddened its fans and raised concerns regarding their staff who will be looking for new jobs very soon.
