Indonesian eyewear stores now offer spectacle delivery services
COVID-19 has forced many of us to work from home, and with little or no social contact, it’s highly likely that most of us are glued to screens of all sizes for more hours than usual. This could be a problem for us bespectacled folks, and even those who aren’t. As a result, we might need the assistance of opticians more than ever.
With stay-at-home orders still in place, going to an eyewear store to get our eyes checked for new prescriptions or getting our glasses repaired might prove to be challenging. While some outlets of major chains are still open, Optik Melawai, Optik Seis, and Optik Tunggal now offer delivery and home eyewear repair services for their customers.
Eyewear care from home
In order for customers to stay at home, Optik Melawai, Optik Seis, and Optik Tunggal have gone online. These stores now offer delivery services and home visits.

Optik Melawai, for example, has introduced its Online To Home service that operates from 7.30AM to 5PM on weekdays. All you need to do is go to the website and choose 4 frames that you want to examine at home, because we all know it can be hard to imagine how specs would look like on your face without trying them on.
After you’ve filled in all the necessary details, an optician will come to your house with the four selected frames that you can then choose one from. You can also get your eyes checked by the optician who can perform a refraction test in your home. Please note that this service is only available within the Greater Jakarta region.
You can also contact them via WhatsApp if you have further questions and prefer a direct response.
Optik Seis

Another eyewear store that offers delivery services is Optik Seis. You can go on their website to select the frames and types of lenses you need. You can also contact them through WhatApp for additional assistance on weekdays from 8AM to 8PM and on Saturdays from 8.30AM to 3PM.
Optik Tunggal

The third alternative is Optik Tunggal. This eyewear store now allows you to get what you need from them on your mobile phone – from new frames, lenses, or contact lenses.
You can give their customer service a call or contact them through WhatsApp.
All of these stores adhere to COVID-19 preventive measures by disinfecting all equipment and lenses. The opticians also wear personal protective equipment to protect themselves and customers.
While it is strongly advised that you stay at home, you can still go to some of the outlets. Check the Instagram pages of Optik Melawai, Optik Seis, and Optik Tunggal to see which stores are still open.
Rest easy and rest your eyes
It’s great that the major eyewear stores above offer delivery and home services so you don’t have to worry about not getting the care your eyes need during these complicated times.
But even though such conveniences exist, it’s still important that you give your eyes enough rest in between work sessions – and your mind and body too.
