Thankfully, Indonesia is blessed with numerous hiking trails, including the easy ones that even beginners can enjoy to the fullest.

Those who seek to recharge from Jakarta’s hustle and bustle without getting too far from the city center will feel right at home at Cibeureum Waterfall, part of the Gede-Pangrango National Park which is only about a two-hour drive from Jakarta.Â
At the end of your hike, which can take up to two hours from the gate entrance, you’ll be rewarded with the sight of the stunning waterfall that’ll make you momentarily forget about your deadlines awaiting you at home.
While not all of us are accustomed to hiking and trekking, there’s no need to worry – the trail toward the waterfall is well marked with stone and wooden footpaths to cater to beginners. The paths can be slippery, however, which is why good footwear – either running shoes or hiking boots – is a must.
To get there, go to the Cibodas entrance of the national park, where you will need to pay a hiking fee of Rp. 18,500 (~USD1.29) for Indonesian citizens or Rp. 155,000 (~USD.10.74) for foreigners. We recommend leaving from Jakarta in the early morning to avoid the notorious traffic jams.
